Dot Foods Announces $33 Million Expansion
of Its Distribution Center in Bear, Delaware

January 29, 2026

Dot Foods, Inc., North America’s largest less-than-truckload consolidator in the food industry, announced plans to expand its Bear, Delaware, distribution center to support significant projected volume growth in the Northeast. Dot opened the Bear facility, its 12th U.S. location, in 2020. The expansion will increase the facility’s size from 190,000 to around 340,000 square feet. Dot plans to break ground in spring 2026 and expects to complete the project by summer 2027.

The expansion will add about 150,000 square feet of new storage space, over 19,000 pallet positions, approximately 15 new dock doors, and more than 100 trailer parking spaces.

“This expansion strengthens our operations in Bear and supports the needs of our customer and supplier partners in this region,” said Darren Laterza, general manager of Dot’s Bear distribution center. “It’s a significant investment in our Bear location, and we’re really excited about growing our facility and our team here.”

Dot forecasts an increased need for distribution space in the Northeast in the coming years. Most of the anticipated growth will come from the existing Bear service area.

“The Bear distribution center plays a key role in our national network, and this expansion improves our ability to serve our customers and supplier partners across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic,” said Chris Landrum, vice president of warehousing at Dot Foods. “This investment gives our teams greater flexibility to manage volume growth while maintaining excellent service. We’re excited about the impact of this project and what the future holds for Dot Foods Delaware.”

“We are grateful and excited that Dot is choosing to increase its investment in Delaware,” said Delaware Governor Matt Meyer. “Today’s announcement demonstrates how our state’s strategic location, strong workforce, and supportive economic climate make Delaware an ideal home for growing companies.”
